WHO's New Cure for Sudan? A Bold Strategy of Doing Nothing.

With over 70% of Sudan's hospitals non-functional and more than 13 million people displaced by a horrifying conflict, one would expect a fiery, urgent debate in the World Health Organization. Instead, the World Health Organization delivered a performance so profoundly boring it could make a cup of coffee fall asleep. The intellectual desert of the General Speakers List was a sight to behold, a place where questions went to die and delegates seemed to be communicating via telepathic silence.
Nations like Egypt (even after being a major stakeholder) and Ethiopia, whose borders are directly impacted by this catastrophe, apparently decided their most powerful diplomatic tool was staying silent. The delegate of France broke the deafening silence only to read a speech so blatantly copy-pasted from a quick Google search that you could almost see the browser tabs reflected in her eyes, while Japan offered while Japan decided to host a pop-up history lesson about Donald Trump. If this is the peak of international crisis management, Sudan might as well ask a Magic 8-Ball for aid.
