What was supposed to be a formal press conference with the Chinese National People’s Congress quickly turned into something totally unexpected for everyone there.

Right from the get-go, it was clear some delegates weren’t too bothered about following the rules. General Li Mingrui pretty much ignored the Chairs’ instructions like they didn’t matter. When the press asked him a question, he shot back a sarcastic “no comment, sorry,” which felt more like he was making fun of us than actually answering.

Huang Min wasn’t much better. His answers were way too casual — sometimes almost like he didn’t even care — and it was hard to tell if he was taking the press seriously at all. Things got even messier when delegates started banging on the table, not in support, but like they were mocking each other right in front of everyone while questions were still being asked.

At one point, a press delegate called out someone’s choice of words, only to get the response, “Well, I’ve only said that a few times.” Yeah, that doesn’t really cut it when you’re supposed to keep it professional.

And then there was Wei Changui, who said “public execution” straight up, without even a second thought, acting like he forgot he was standing in a formal committee session and was supposed to be keeping it respectful.

Throughout the whole thing, General Li Mingrui didn’t seem to care much either — ignoring orders, snapping back at the press, basically turning the whole conference into something that felt more like a comedy sketch than a serious event.

The CNPC press conference quickly turned chaotic, with sarcastic replies, disrespectful behavior, and inappropriate language from delegates. What was intended as a formal event ultimately devolved into a breakdown of professionalism.
