UNODC: Utterly Nonsensical Organization of Dysfunctional Conversations

If the UNODC committee aimed to fight crime, they certainly succeeded, by committing one
against diplomacy itself. What was meant to be a structured press conference quickly was turned into a masterclass in confusion and chaos. Delegates came armed with excuses rather than evidences.
With the delegate of Libya proudly stating “my sources are the internet and my head” and
pulling out the “it's my first MUN” card, this committee was handing over embarrassing content
about themselves for the press to write. The delegate of Libya didn’t even have a proper response when she was questioned about only looking at her iPad while speeches were being given, and just used the classic ‘I was just researching’ excuse.
In fact, it gets worse! When the delegate of Ethiopia was questioned on her choice of words, she began replying to a complete other non-existent question. After nearly 3 follow-ups from the press, asking her to stick to the question and not blatantly blabber about something else she said “I understood your question.. but did you understand my answer?!” only proving the extreme lack of awareness in the committee.
Having UK constantly table tap, and contribute NOTHING aside from irrelevant comments, and
repeated “uhm and uh and” followed by a long silence from a key stakeholder like Russia, only
managed to make this one embarrassingly entertaining press conference.
