The historical parliament of Australia missed out on simply one thing today…the parliament itself. With the country facing the great depression in its economy currently, the committee was called for an urgent crisis response. What followed? Silence. Long, awkward silence.
No motions, No real debate. The chairs practically had to speak for the delegates, while the delegates themselves drifted off topic. There was an exceptional delegate who had the wonderful thought of asking what food vegetarians would get if a primarily non-vegetarian service was catering. Obviously, this delegate had her priorities set.
Moreover, there was absolutely no energy in the room. The delegates repeated the same questions on loop and showed very little concern for well… their collapsed nation. One delegate even had the audacity to ask for a barter system to be set with citizens who had literally nothing to offer. Although the logic was unclear, the confidence was undeniable.
There is nothing more to say about this committee other than it was a complete bore. No progress was made, and no motions were set. With a collapsing economy and a nation desperate for leadership, only one thing is for sure, this committee was a total flop.
