FUSS into a Masterclass in Chaos and Confusion

What was meant to be a serious diplomatic simulation at FUSS MUN quickly unraveled into an uncoordinated display of noise, chatter and questionable intelligence. Delegates, instead of engaging in meaningful discourse, indulged in relentless cross-talking, ignoring repeated instructions to maintain decorum. The floor resembled less of a debate and more of a chaotic shouting contest where nobody listened, but everybody spoke.
The quality of questioning reached new lows. Instead of addressing the crisis at hand, delegates fired off questions that served only to applaud each others statements. One particularly absurd remark “The public do not trust everybody” left everyone wondering if basic logic was abandoned by the delegate, after all if public trust was non existent, why would they even ask the delegates of the com to come up with solutions to address the issue? Delegate Hamaze Tony began with a solid opening speech but crumbled under the simplest POI’s, offering the same vague line “I’ll get back to you” over and over again. It was less diplomacy and more a lesson in how not to answer a question that was related to what the delegate had to put across, and what was in the delegates speech. Meanwhile, there was a delegate accusing the public of creating a virus, a baseless claim that belonged in the realm of conspiracy theories rather than a formal debate.
To add to the chaos, T. Hardy Swarup spoke with an enthusiasm that was inversely proportional to the meaning of his arguments, throwing out points that had no logical connection to the topic, at one point instead go asking POI’s the delegate putting across his points. Misbehavior among delegates further dragged the atmosphere down, with professionalism tossed out of the window. If FUSS was meant to prepare tomorrow’s leaders, this session instead showcased the art of disorganization, questionable logistics and absolute disinterest.
