NDJ- Notoriously Delirious and Judgemental.

An entire committee session has passed, and, in a shocking turn of events—or lack thereof—the delegates of NDJ have achieved something worse than failure: absolutely nothing. The lawmaking, society-handling backbone of Japan has spent an entire two hours repeating each other's points, blatantly disregarding the pressure Japan is facing from China and North Korea, and tearing each other down.

From the very onset, Delegate Yoshihiko Noda started her opening speech with a ballsy—and frankly delusional—statement: "Japan has never once doubted its Three Non-Nuclear Principles; why deny them now?" It's very difficult to determine whether this was an attempt to deflect from the pressure Japan is currently facing due to nuclear threats, or simply a complete disregard for the study guide altogether.

This delegate's bouts of hysteria do not stop there. Her next statement will truly make you question whether intelligence has a lower bound. In a GSL that this delegate herself had the gall to raise the motion for, she spent an entire, gruelling minute talking about how "the USA can handle all threats to Japan." As if the USA itself isn't currently and actively involved in the Russia-Ukraine War, as well as numerous Middle East and Counter-ISIS operations. I seriously doubt that Japan's safety is high on the nation's priority list.

This delegate then had the audacity to justify this obscure stance with the claim that "This does not suggest that Japan is codependent on the USA." Right. Because Japan expecting the USA to fight its wars is apparently an act of simple diplomatic support, and not the desperation of a lovelorn admirer.

As absurd as it sounds, however, Delegate Yoshihiko Noda isn't the only individual to turn a deaf ear and a blind eye to the external threats of nuclear warfare against Japan.

Delegate Junya Ogawa stated that "Our greatest strength is our reputation as a peaceful nation." Will this reputation protect Japan from the pressing threats posed by North Korea and China? Will this reputation be enough for the citizens of Japan to sleep peacefully without the nagging worry of being defenceless?

To exacerbate the already atrocious state of affairs within this committee, the few delegates who seem willing to acknowledge the modern realities facing Japan only appear interested in fostering acrimony between themselves and the opposing party. A notable example is Delegate Koizumi Shinjiro, who makes it seem as though his main agenda is to batter and berate anyone who isn't a member of the LDP. He dedicated his first GSL to attacking the CRA, saying directly to their faces that "It's a shame people even have to listen to your incompetent opinions," as if the people holding these "incompetent opinions" do not possess equal voting power and therefore need to be convinced to support any proposal he wishes to implement.

This delegate also has a habit of making statements that are questionable at best and foolish at worst, only to leave them entirely unexplained. Most notably, he claimed that "Wind and solar energy will only last us for so long; we need an energy source that is more dependable," while advocating for nuclear energy in Japan. Last I checked, nuclear power relies on a non-renewable fuel source. How exactly is investing in a non-renewable source of energy "more dependable" than investing in wind and solar energy? Not to mention, this delegate also infamously used the phrase "Are we deadass?" in the middle of his very first GSL. Have at it, folks. This is who you've trusted with the future of Japan. Better yet, this is supposed to be our Minister of Defense.

Lastly, but definitely not least, Delegate Anumum Kyutum, our beloved veteran policy heavyweight, has apparently opted instead for the role of dead weight, having been caught red-handed watching YouTube Shorts during committee session. Make of that what you will. No further comment is necessary.

All in all, NDJ has made it abundantly clear that the real threat to Japan doesn't lie in the implementation of nuclear power plants; it lies in the absolute catastrophes our individual delegates have become, seemingly finding enjoyment in using the trust of Japan's citizens as nothing more than shoe polish.
